This website is operated by 2709070 Ontario Corp. o/a Golden Carpentry ("Golden Carpentry", "we", "us" or "our"), a framing and renovation contractor based in Ottawa, Ontario.

We respect your privacy and handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have.

Through our website estimate form. When you request an estimate, we collect the information you choose to provide, such as:

• Your name, phone number and email address
• The address or general location of your project
• The type of project, a description of the work, and your preferred timing
• Your communication preferences and any consent you give to receive calls, text messages or emails

By phone and text message. When you call or text us, we collect your phone number, the content of your messages, and the details you share about your project.

Automatically. Like most websites, our site and the form provider we use may collect basic technical information — such as your IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited — and may use cookies to make the form work and to prevent spam.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected, including to:

• Respond to estimate requests and answer your questions
• Schedule site visits, consultations and work
• Provide project updates and communicate with you about work we are quoting or performing
• Keep business records and meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations
• Send marketing or promotional messages — only with your express consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

4. Consent

By submitting our estimate form, calling us or texting us, you consent to us collecting and using your information to respond to your inquiry and provide the services you request. Where we wish to send marketing communications, we ask for your separate, express consent. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting us at [email protected].

5. Text Messaging (SMS)

If you provide your mobile number and opt in, Golden Carpentry may send you text messages about your estimate request, appointment scheduling and project updates, and — only if you separately consented — occasional promotional messages.

• Message frequency varies depending on your inquiry and project.
• Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile plan.
• Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You will receive one confirmation message and no further texts unless you opt in again.

• Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of requesting an estimate or purchasing any service.
• Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our business and serve you:

• Service providers who help us operate — for example, our website form, customer-relationship, email, phone and text-messaging platforms. They may use your information only to provide services to us and must protect it.
• Trade partners working on your project (for example, a licensed electrician or plumber on a basement renovation), only to the extent needed to complete your work and only with your knowledge.
• Where required by law, such as in response to a valid legal request, or to protect our rights, property or safety.

The sharing described above never includes mobile information or text-messaging opt-in data for marketing or promotional purposes, as stated in Section 5.

7. Where Your Information Is Stored

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. When this happens, your information may be subject to the laws of that country, and may be accessible to its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities.

8. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including any period required for legal, tax, warranty or insurance reasons. When it is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

We use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards — including password-protected accounts and access limited to people who need it — to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately for its sensitivity.
